DRUM MAJORS
The Spartan Alliance Band performs under the guidance of our student drum majors. These upperclassmen students have undergone extensive training and assist with conducting the music during practices, performances and competitions. Drum majors also serve as leaders and student ambassadors within the band. Auditions for drum majors are held each spring.

MUSICIANS
Our Spartan Alliance musicians hail from a variety of talented middle school programs. Students in numerous sections learn challenging show music, marching technique, drill and performance technique. Musicians are under the direction of Mr. Warfield, Mr. Witzigreuter, Mr. Karkosky Mr. and a full staff of section instructors. Students build teamwork and leadership skills through the marching season. Musicians have the opportunity to perform in one of our three indoor performance ensembles following the marching season. Our exceptional musicians are also active in additional performing arts programs at Homestead, including the jazz bands, orchestra and Anonymous Blue.

COLOR GUARD

Under the direction of Sabrina Medert and Lauren Owen, the marching band's color guard incorporates dance, aerobics, gymnastics, drill, flags, rifles and sabres working in unison to add color, motion and personality to the performance. As a member of the band's color guard, students learn leadership and team-building skills, self-confidence, and self-expression. These personal skills last a lifetime and are a great foundation for future success.
Auditions for the Spartan Alliance color guard are held in the spring prior to marching season. Guard members have the opportunity to audition again in late fall for our Homestead Winter Guard.
