Each year the Spartan Alliance Band hosts several fundraisers to keep fee low for the program. These fundraiser help to pay for expenses in the program including travel, props, music, licensing and more. All Spartan Alliance members are asked to participate by volunteering time or collecting donations for these events.
GOLF OUTING
Golfers are encouraged to join the Spartan Alliance in June of each year as they host their annual golf outing at Chestnut Hills. Grab a team and join us for breakfast and lunch, and enjoy a morning round of golf! The 2025 Spartan Alliance Golf Outing is June 25, 2025- mark your calendars!
CAR WASH FUNDRAISER
The annual car wash is a major fund raising event for the Spartan Alliance Band. Held each August, the car wash is a one day event held at four separate locations. Students collect pledges and wash cars prior to the car wash (in case of rain). Pledges are based on the total number of cars washed at all four locations plus the cars washed by students before the event. Standard donations are also welcome. Half of the money raised is used in the general band fund and half of the money collected by each band member goes into their escrow account.

JOHNNY APPLESEED FESTIVAL: CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS
Homestead's famous Chicken & Dumpling Booth is the highlight of the annual Johnny Appleseed Festival. Visit the festival and experience life in the 1800s. Vendors prepare food with no modern conveniences allowed.
Each year we sell over 8000 servings of chicken and dumplings that are cooked on site in cast iron kettles over open fires. Visit the festival and you can watch the volunteers rolling and preparing the dumplings while other volunteers keep constant vigil over the kettles. |

HOMESTEAD'S FALL FESTIVAL OF BANDS INVITATIONAL
Our yearly Homestead Fall Festival of Bands Invitational our opportunity to welcome bands from across Indiana to Homestead High School. We need 300 band parent volunteers to make the event a success. This includes volunteering to host a band and show them around the campus, concessions, ticket sales and more! The funds raised from this event help to keep the fee cost low for participants.
ISSMA SCHOLASTIC STATE PRELIM AND OPEN CLASS INVITATIONAL
Homestead is proud to host the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic State Prelim and Open Class Invitational for our area. ISSMA has two competitive groups, OPEN and SCHOLASTIC. Homestead competes in the OPEN group in Class A. Bands from throughout northeast Indiana in the Scholastic group come to Homestead to perform for an ISSMA rating and to qualify for the ISSMA Scholastic State Finals. Parent volunteers from the Homestead Band staff the concessions, ticket sales, and parking areas.
