COMMUNITY NIGHT
New to our 2020 season, the band will host a community performance night in our home stadium for family, friends, alumni and all fans. Details to follow on this exciting new event.
POT LUCK
Following the marching band season we come together to celebrate the hard work of the band members with our End of Season Potluck. Family members are invited to join us. Families provide dishes for the potluck according to last name. More information is provided in our Parent Handbook.
CIDER AND DOUGHNUT NIGHT
Pending State Finals qualification, families and students are invited to the cafeteria following the THURSDAY evening run-through, to enjoy cider and doughnuts, and a few other special events. This is like a “PEP RALLY” for the band. It is a fun night and one you won’t want to miss. This is the night for the POSTERS!
STATE POSTERS
Part of the Cider & Doughnut Night celebration, pending qualification for State Finals. We decorate the main hall with posters. Each family is strongly encouraged to make a poster (one per student) to honor their student’s band accomplishments. You may use construction paper or ½ of a poster board sheet (no larger please). Be as creative as you like. Glitter and glitz are great. Photos, favorite sayings, and musical motifs are great ideas. There is a designated area for SENIORS ONLY. They worked hard to have this honor. Seniors may have a full-sized poster and NO LARGER!
“WE BELIEVE” SPIRIT TUNNEL
If the band qualifies for State Finals, family and friends arrive early on the morning of State Finals to park their cars along the route from the band room to the stadium. We create a tunnel of sorts with cheering crowds, car alarms, and honking horns celebrating the students and staff as they make their way to the field for practice that morning.
Plan to return to the school for the same cheering as the buses leave the school in the afternoon to make their way to Lucas Oil Stadium. Once again, arrive at Homestead after State Finals early Sunday morning to welcome the band home!
SENIOR NIGHT
On Senior Night, seniors wear a yellow cape for the half-time performance. Following a shortened version of our regular half-time performance, the seniors are introduced and escorted onto the field by their parents.
There is also a recognition reception held in the school cafeteria the following Monday evening. Parents of juniors host the band's Senior Recognition Night. Parent volunteers coordinate the meal, sew senior capes, create and send invitations to senior families, collect baby photos, decorate the cafeteria, and create the senior slide show.
